Cargo & liability terms.
Clear rules for every load: what we each look after, how to report a problem, and the limits of our liability.
Last updated: 12 October 2026
1. Scope
These terms apply to road transport arranged by Aiyan International Trading Company (“Aiyan”, “we”) for a customer (“you”). They are read together with the quotation, the booking confirmation and our Terms of use. If a signed agreement says something different, the agreement prevails.
2. Your responsibilities
- Describe the cargo accurately — type, weight, dimensions, value where relevant, and any special handling.
- Tell us in advance about hazardous, fragile, high-value or temperature-controlled cargo. We do not carry hazardous goods unless agreed in writing.
- Pack and secure the cargo suitably for road transport, and arrange loading and unloading unless we agree otherwise.
- Provide the documents the cargo needs, such as delivery notes, invoices and, for GCC moves, export and customs documents.
- Make sure the cargo is lawful and that you have the right to send it.
3. Collection and delivery
Pickup and delivery times are estimates. We will keep you updated, but we are not responsible for delays caused by traffic, checkpoints, border procedures, weather, port or customer waiting times, or other causes outside our control.
4. Checking the cargo on delivery
The receiver should check the cargo when it is delivered and write any visible damage or shortage on the delivery note or proof of delivery before signing. Please also send us photos as soon as possible.
5. Claims
Claims must be sent to info@aiyanintl.com in writing within 7 days of delivery (or of the expected delivery date if the cargo was not delivered), with the delivery note, photos and documents showing the value of the goods.
6. Limits of liability
If cargo is lost or damaged while in our care and this was caused by us or a carrier we appointed, our liability is limited to the lower of: (a) the proven cost of the lost or damaged goods, or (b) the limit stated in the quotation or booking confirmation. Unless agreed in writing, we are not liable for:
- indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of market or penalties;
- loss or damage caused by insufficient packing, incorrect description, or loading or unloading done by you or your agents;
- the nature of the goods themselves (for example natural spoilage or leakage);
- delay, unless a delivery time was expressly guaranteed in writing;
- events outside our reasonable control, including accidents caused by third parties, actions of authorities, and force majeure.
7. Insurance
Our prices do not include insurance of your goods unless the quotation says so. We recommend that you insure your cargo for its full value for the whole journey.
8. Charges
Waiting time, extra stops, re-delivery, storage and cancellation after a vehicle has been dispatched may be charged as set out in the quotation. Prices exclude VAT unless stated.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and disputes are subject to the competent courts in Jeddah. If the Arabic and English versions differ, the Arabic version prevails.
